My Grandfather was born in Ludgvan near Penzance on June 24th 1907, he grew up in what was then a very rural part of the county. In his later years he decided, quite independently of any family history interest on my part to write some memories for my brother and I . What follows are some edited extracts from those memoirs which give some insights into life in West Cornwall in the early 1900’s.
